Deepana- Pachnana (Correcting the Agni) After assessing the status of the Agni, the practitioner will prescribe you herbs to correct your Agni in order to tolerate the future detox therapy. The dose and days of the herbs will be decided after consultation. Firstly, in order to correct the Agni, the medicines are given prior to any procedure. This helps in transformation of undigested state of morbid doshas in to digested and healthy state, as optimal functioning of the GIT. Please take the prescribed medicines as advised. Abhyantara Sneha (Internal Lubrication- Ghee/oil intake) After this, you will be subjected to internal lubrication procedure. You will be asked to drink particular medicated fat (oil/ghee/fat) as suggested by the practitioner. This procedure helps lubricating the old; tightly sticked toxins in the body. You will asked to follow the specific regimen during this course. Abhyanga (Ayurvedic oil/dry massage) Next is the external oleation therapy and fomentation. This procedure helps loosening of the toxins and helping them to evacuate easily out of the body without any discomfort. You will be given an hour appointment to do the procedure. Abhyanga, loosely translated, means “attending to a part of the body in the present moment.” This full-body ayurvedic-style massage will be performed by two therapists in synchronistic rhythm using warm sesame oil. Marmas, or subtle points of energy, are addressed on the face and feet simultaneously to balance body, mind and spirit. This traditional therapy releases toxins, enhances immunity, nourishes the skin and creates deep relaxation 5 Main Procedures Vamana treatment uses the upward movement in the form of emesis to eliminate the toxins. Virechana uses downward movement to remove the related toxins from the small intestine and liver through the rectum by therapeutic purgation. Two type of Basti treatment also uses downward movement to remove related toxins and waste material whose focal point of target is the large intestines through therapeutic enemas both. Rakta mokshana is therapeutic letting of blood an exclusive purification therapy where instruments or leeches are used in completing the procedure. This therapy is used in conditions where excess toxins are carried in the blood to the periphery of the body.The set of procedures or the final step follow the main eliminative treatment of Panchakarma and assist in the rebuilding process, re-establishment of healthy metabolic function and immunity. Post procedure diet plan After the main procedure, your Agni will become very weak, Therefore, it is advised to follow the dietary plan to help kindle your Agni properly. |
